Finding the New River: Trusting the Shift in Abundance

There comes a moment on the abundance journey when the stream we’ve relied on begins to slow... and we panic. We work harder to squeeze out every last drop. We think maybe we’ve done something wrong. Maybe we’re not aligned enough. Maybe we’ve lost our connection to Spirit.

But what if the flow hasn’t stopped?

What if the water has simply moved?

One of the metaphors that came through during my recent abundance workshop was about dried-up streams. I shared how sometimes we get so attached to a stream that used to nourish us, like a career, a client base, a type of income, or a way of creating, that when it starts to slow down, we put all our effort into squeezing a little more from it. We camp out there. We build a structure around it. We tell ourselves that if we just stay committed, maybe the water will come back.

But the truth is, the stream didn’t stop because you did something wrong. The stream stopped because the flow has moved somewhere else. Spirit didn’t abandon you. Spirit is inviting you to turn around.

And just behind you, there might be a river. A whole rushing river of flow that you couldn’t see before because you were so focused on keeping the old stream alive.

We are not meant to live in drought. But we are also not meant to control the direction of the flow. Our work is to listen. To trust. To follow the feeling of love and expansion. To say yes to the nudge that tells you to try something new or look somewhere different.

Here’s what I’ve learned: abundance is not static. It moves. It shifts. It evolves alongside our growth. What once sustained us may have completed its purpose. Spirit is always gently guiding us toward the next stream, the next wellspring, the next wave of support.

So if something is drying up in your life, try not to panic. Try not to force it. Instead, ask yourself, “Am I still aligned with this? Or is this a sign to follow the river elsewhere?”

The flow never ends. But sometimes it changes course so we can grow into who we’re really meant to be.

You are not losing abundance. You are being rerouted to more of it.

Trust the shift. The new river is waiting.
